What do you think about a mid-aged woman having super long hair ?

My mom is 46 years old.She has kept her hair growing for many years and kept the scissors away from her hair.It is almost knee length now.Her hair is very healthy,no split ends,no grey hair.She makes her hair into a huge bun with a big hairnet.The hair,i think,is a part of my mom.But many people keep saying"rapunzle is out of fashion and go get a cut"to her.what do you think about a mid-aged woman having super long hair ? Is it ugly?Should my mom cut it short?Should she git rid of her "trademark"?
