Attending funerals of people you don't know well?

I think this may be an etiquette question. Out of respect for being asked you should go. Make a few notes about what you remember him to be as a teacher so if you are asked to say something you won't be surprised. Keep it short and sweet. You are there to represent your school, the students and the council and to briefly honor your teacher, who should be honored anyway for being a role model.
