Questions about the civil war?

A battery is like where artillery unit are based within a battle, guns cannons and soldiers etc. You really need to specify which battle for individual attack plans, but the plan of attack generally regarded as winning the war as a whole was "The Anaconda Plan ". Found some interesting info though on this website.
