Question about a custody battle?

ok im going to make this as short as possible so ppl will actually read it!! my ex bf and i are waiting on a court date to get custody set up for our daughter. we have been seperated for 6 months now. we had our first hearing and he was ready to sign an agreement giving me full custody and getting his visitation every other week UNTIL they went over the child support info with him, he got mad, said hes not paying child support and walked out sooo now im just waiting on our court date bc he has decided to fight me for custody, all bc he doesnt want to pay child support. in the meantime while we wait for our court date i had been letting him come pick up our daughter one night a week but he decided to be a jerk and not bring her home to me, i had to call the cops bla bla bla u get the picture. so now i am not letting him pick her up at all, my lawyer contacted him and offered a temporary visitation order, and he refused to sign it. so my question is, i dont wnat to let him pick her up without the order bc im afraid he wont bring her home again, BUT ive really been stressing that bc im not letting him coe get her that it will make me look bad in court, but i have the police report from when he tried to keep from bringing her home, so they should understand right? and the fact that we offered a visitation agreement for the time being?? i dont know how this crap works..for the last three weeks he has not even asked about her or offered to help with anything she needs..i want this over with, he is making this into something it doesnt need to be, all over some child support!!
